Traveling Opens a Whole New World

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

We humans are active beings that just cannot be fixated to a particular place for long. Since ancient civilizations, people have traveled around to gather food, to hide from their enemies and to satisfy their thirst for exploration. Greeks traveled miles to take part in sporting events and Vikings had a craving for undertaking adventures to unchartered waters. Later on in the 19th century, traveling for pleasure and entertainment evolved. Why did Columbus travel across the seas to discover Americas?

Is it because he had the wanderlust gene that magnetized him to explore the world? We may associate the travel syndrome to the wanderlust gene that has passed from generation to generation and has caused people to embark on adventures around the world. Whether you belong to a family of thrill-seeking travel enthusiasts or have a dormant wanderlust gene that needs to be tweaked, travel in all its forms puts life into perspective.

Whether you travel to another city, take a trip to your local beach, or go on a globetrotting adventure with your backpack, travel is a hiatus from your everyday monotonous routine. You have to rise from the deluge of work documents and presentations, household chores, and bill payments and indulge in new experiences. It’s a simple rule of travel: subtract the life stress and add the fun.
Many people travel to discover who they actually are and to pause from pretending who they are not. With new learning experiences from different cultures, interactions and challenges, travelling refreshes your system and gives you an opportunity to hit the Zen state.

Importance of Family

The family is a haven in a heartless world. - Attributed to Christopher Lasch

The importance of a family cannot be expressed in words. Families build an individual’s personality and shape behaviors. Your family home is a place where you can be yourself because your family knows you very well. A family is the greatest gift from God that teaches us the value of love, care, and relationships. Families stand by an individual in times of both joy and sorrow and act as his/her strength.

Children are a very essential part of the family as they bring joy into our lives. Children learn the most from their family. It is important that parents instill family values into their children’s lives since a very young age. They should be told that friends can come and go in their lives but the family will always be there for them. Parents are responsible for strengthening the bond between all the children and also between parent and child. Children with sound family backgrounds and strong family ties are happy, successful people in life.

Today, busy lifestyles have left no time for families to spend time with each other. It is difficult for family members to sit together, chat casually, engage in healthy discussions, and spend quality time with each other to bond as they used to before. This quality time is of great importance to parents, grandparents and children as it offers them a chance to share their feelings and opinions.

Most people today do not realize the importance of family and prefer spending time with their friends. They only realize this when they are in trouble and their friends are not there to help the out. Therefore it is important that every person gives great importance to family and family life.
